TRJR is the name of the translation group currently translating the Yosuga no Sora visual novel, its sequel Haruka na Sora, and other Yosuga no Sora media. TRJR relies on an entirely volunteer and ever-changing staff, with constant recruitment pushes. It is a close partner of this wiki, and a major part of the Yosuga no Sora fandom overseas.[1]
Background[]
Founded in 2011 by an individual named TRJR, it continued the work of the now-defunct TLWiki started on November 22, 2009.[2] The original Yosuga no Sora translation project was stopped due to a cease and decease notice from CUFFS/Sphere[3] received on April 27, 2010 by the TLWiki administrator. Work was then sporadically done on 4chan, until TRJR salvaged the files and moved to the WordPress blog, where work has continued ever since. The project achieved 35% completion status by mid-2012, when leadership fell to Amanojaku due to the absence of TRJR.[4]
Work continued with Amanojaku as the new leader. The staff fluctuated rapidly between 2012-2016, nevertheless 87% completion was reached by mid-2016.[5] From there, the project largely went silent until the founding of the Yosuga no Sora Discord server,[6] and revitalization by a new staff member, jiji.[7] Translation of the main game was 100% completed in April 2020,[8] and editing is currently ongoing.
In 2021, the name was retroactively changed to "Twins Romance: July Reverie" as a form of backronym. A newer member named Mad eventually took over the project from Amanojaku in 2022, and expanded the scope of the project after a revitalisation effort.[9] The name was eventually changed back.[10] Tron and Lynx took over the project in 2024 and currently coordinate all efforts.[11] Translation of Haruka na Sora was 100% completed in September 2024,[12] and editing is currently ongoing.
