Description[]
Okukozome, sometimes transliterated as Okukosome, is the fictional village where the Yosuga no Sora franchise primarily takes place. It is a quiet, small rural village[1] where Haruka Kasugano and his twin sister, Sora Kasugano, settle down in at the beginning of the story following their parents passing. It is neighbored by the town of Hozumi on its southern end, where places such as the high school, train station, and shopping mall are located.
There is only one singular bus stop found in town. There is also a shrine found in the in the northern end, as well as a large lake found behind it. The candy shop is also located close to the shrine.[2] The Migiwa residence, home to Kazuha Migiwa, as well as Mr. Migiwa and Mrs. Migiwa, is found south from the candy shop, on the east end of Okukozome. In the north-west end there is also a large field, where the Takano supermarket can be found parked twice a week. Heading south from the field eventually leads to the Kasugano clinic. Continuing further south reaches Hozumi, beginning at Hozumi Academy after passing the sole bus stop in Okukozome. Further south leads to the Hozumi train station, and finally to the supermarket, the largest store in the area.
A summer festival for the entire town is held annually at the shrine following the conclusion of exams at Hozumi Academy.[3]
Many locations within Okukozome are based on real-life places, most of them being located in Kabasaki-cho, Ashikaga (Tochigi Prefecture).
